Darija Divan

Lea Pischke

The solo "Darija Divan" is the attempt of a counter-integration from one cultural realm into another. At the example of Darija, an Arabic dialect which greatly mixed with other languages over the centuries, the choreographer Lea Pischke undertakes an "update" of an architectural style element whose own historical successor is a dance figure: the arabesque. Follows an interplay between the factual and the fantastic, where communication touches upon the timeless.
