Right after the "Housewarming" of the festival center at Haus der Statistik, the festival team, representatives of LAFT – Landesverband freie darstellende Künste Berlin and the State Secretary for Culture Dr. Torsten Wöhlert will open the Berlin Performing Arts Festival at the Weekend Club high above the city on the 15th floor at 8:30 pm. (Please register in advance).
From 10:00 pm on, the party Open Up, PAF! starts! The Berlin band DZAIJL, a Spandex cover band with spectacular hairstyles and a touch of Cha Cha Cha, will perform their hits from the 1950s through 1970s, covering giants such as Nancy Sinatra, Ray Charles, Nina Hagen and Kool 6 The Gang. Their repertory is uncompromising, intoxicating and pure rock and roll, particularly thanks to the bombastic wind instrument arrangements of band founder Karen “Screaming" Bolange. The audience is warmly invited to the subsequent Sixties Club by DJ CHAMELEON to dance until dawn with the artists and all participants in the festival.
Please register in advance for the opening at 8:30 pm at eroeffnung [at] performingarts-festival.de .
Open to public from 10:00 pm.
The rooftop on the 17th floor is accessible via the staircase only.
Elevators only go up to the 15th floor.
