Eine improvisierte Kammeroper
Das Wilde Klingen

This piece of music theater is freely adapted from James Berry’s Anansi and the Hidden Garden and tells a mythological fairytale, interprets it and gives it a political context. The trickster Anansi destroys nature and its godliness through his unethical, profit-oriented business dealings. Sound, gesture and word meet in a free improvisation.

Artists

"Das Wilde Klingen" is a music theater ensemble that explores mythological themes and texts and interprets them in a contemporary manner. Sound, gesture, word and dance interact with one another to push the content forward. The instrumental and gestural improvisation is used to give narrative impulses, while the spoken word also becomes a possible device for improvisation. Aside from the search for aesthetic means, the group investigates and reveals political contents in the stories.
