The ultra conservative worldview of The She-Devil is revealed somewhere between intimate chamber drama, crazy music revue and coarse popular theater. Karl Schönherr’s original text from 1914 is only full of clichés. The production follows the original story, but has reversed all of the genders. This allows things to transform from an embarrassing awkwardness to unabashed happiness. Seriously.

MariaKron, founded in 2011 by Verena Unbehaun, Cornelius Schwalm and Sophie Nikolitsch, chooses fresh perspective on current political topics and societal debates.  Proceeding from dramatic texts, this independent performance ensemble is marked by a direct language on stage. At Theaterdiscounter and Theater unterm Dach Berlin, the works MONGOFLIPPER (winner of the Heidelberg Theater Prize), Penthesilea and Der Dämon ist ein umgedrehter Gott, amongst other works, have been created.
