Carlos Manuel

Carlos Manuel was born in Luanda, Angola) and works as a theater director.
He studied philosophy and theater at Sorbonne Nouvelle and acting at CNSAD, both in Paris. 
As a director, he has worked at different theaters, such as Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel, Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Theater an der Parkaue, Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Theater Dortmund, as well as in Uppsala and Moscow. His most recent productions include Das Glücklichste Volk (jtw), Rauschen at Theater Erlangen, Einzigartig at the Museum of Natural History in Berlin, Die Konferenz der Vögel for Nationaltheater Mannheim (also at the festival Schöne Aussichten in Stuttgart, 2018) and Metamorphosen (jtw). Planned for the 2018/2019 season is Das Leben ist Traum / A Vida e Sonho in Berlin and Luanda. He is the recipient of a 2019 cultural exchange grant from Berln’s Senate Department for Culture and Europe.
